Halloween Treats

These are several halloween treats that were made for Aubrey and me and a few that I made last year. There are so many good ideas for halloween goodies and decorations. With that said......

Catherine, my sister made Aubrey and me these cookies. I thought they were so cute, and they taste good, too! She dipped Nutter Butter cookies into melted white chocolate and put the mini chocolate chips for the ghost eyes. She dipped the Oreos into orange tinted white chocolate and placed mini chocolate chips for the eyes, nose, mouth, and stem for the pumpkin.

Aubrey's mom made these cute cupcakes for her school this year, and she dropped a few off by our house. She's so talented with decorating cakes (and cupcakes), and these cupcakes are no exception. I'm going to have to take a Wilton class so I can learn, too!

I made tomato soup last year the night before halloween. I swirled creme fraiche around and took a toothpick from the center to the outside to make a spiderweb design. I got this idea (and the ones below) from Martha Stewart. You could use sour cream instead of creme fraiche.

These little ghosts are one of my favorites. I made these last year for dessert, and they turned out so cute. I melted several chocolate chips and rubbed 3 circles in each mug (eyes and a mouth). I put the mugs in the fridge so the chocolate would harden. In the mean time, I made the milkshakes. I poured the milkshakes in the mugs and topped with whipped cream.

---------------------------------------------------------

This is supposed to be a ghost and 2 pumpkins (mashed potatoes... sweet and russet). There are 2 seeds of some sort (I forgot what) for the ghost eyes, and the pumpkins have a pecan half and cilantro leaf for the stem. The consistency isn't right, but that's all my fault. I didn't use the recipe given.... just made up my own, which turned out to be runny. I served this with meatloaf.
